Offered here is an early, very rare, unusual Scotty "Scott" Cameron headcover.

Vog says: Close to 25 years ago, I acquired one of these on a Scott Cameron putter I bought from Japan. I had never seen one quite like it, and I had the chance to ask Scotty about it a year or so later. He advised that these were ordered and made for Piece of Time, his original distributor in Hawaii.

So, as the late great Paul Harvey liked to say, "and now, the rest of the story." Scotty's early putters did not have covers. His original Mizuno models did not have covers. His Fry's Pity Putters did not have covers. Recently I was fortunate enough to have some time with Scotty and being the Cameron history geek I am, I decided to ask him to fill in some gaps in my understanding of his early career. I was previously under the impression he started making hand made Scott Cameron putters for Piece of Time around 1991. As it turns out, he first went to the store, specializing in high quality timepieces and golf clubs, on his honeymoon around 1985. A few years later after setting up his first shop that also did finish work for other makers, he started making a small number of hand made "Scott" putters for Piece of Time. Except, as I pointed out, he did not have covers to go with the putters. As the Japanese are known to take great care of their clubs, Piece of Time apparently needed covers to go with the putters. This is an example of these early covers. While they were technically not distributed by Scotty, nor ordered by Scotty, if you were lucky enough to acquire a Scott Cameron putter from Piece of Time (maybe 100 were made? That's my best guess) this would have been the cover you received until 1992. It is a Piece of Time, from a period of time very early in Scotty's career.

In good used condition.
