Offered here is a 1994 1 of 200 Scotty Cameron Classic I Copper plated putter. Marked 1st run prototype, tour experimental. Brunswick black powder coated steel shaft.
Vog says: I love this putter. As these were produced relatively close to Scotty's signing with Titleist, and his name was not that well known in the U.S., most of these went to Japan. This one has 30 years of patina on the copper heads; only a "rookie" would dare to clean it, as Scotty chose copper BECAUSE it would develop this kind of patina. The Pearly Gates engraving on the toe is aftermarket - this putter, if sent to the Cameron studio would get a "C" COA - the putter is authentic save for that engraving. Pearly Gates is a lifestyle/fashion company in Japan. They acquired a fair share of Cameron's putters in 1994, had their name engraved on them in Japan, and used them for marketing purposes. I happen to have a Classic I "Art of Putting" in my collection with the Pearly Gates name, and it has a "C" COA.
Condition is near mint, 9.5 out of 10, grip protected by plastic (Scotty never wrapped these grips) but grip is original and correct, 35" with art of putting headcover.
