Produced in the early 1920s, Waverly Horton's Wonder Club combined a wood block in an aluminum frame with a brass backweight. Horton received a US patent for his club in 1920. He believed that his design of backing the wood face with an aluminum frame that extends across the entire sole and middle section of the head, including the neck, would provide the golfer with good shots no matter where on the face the ball was struck. Horton claimed that his club distributed the weight to all sides of the head.
The Waverly Horton brassie offered here has a 42" shaft and grip that appear original. The overall look of the club is attractive and makes for a highly visual piece in any collection.
