Offered here is one of the almost legendary 1997 Scotty Cameron Newport Beach putters. 1 of 100 made. Flat top line and floating face (slit in sole) that designate a proper Newport Beach.
A portion of the production were "T" stamped to designate the putter was intended for the tour and were sent with Scotty's tour rep. This one looks to have had the original player's initials milled out in the cavity. According to our resident Scotty Cameron expert, Bill "Vog" Vogeney, about 15 years ago a number of Cameron tour putters hit the market with initials milled out, likely done to protect the pro's anonymity. While it never was determined who the player was, "Vog" has only seen a small number of these with the player's initials, so likely this was made by Scotty for a very specific, potentially noteworthy player. This one, with the small mill-out, has been authenticated as an "A" by the Cameron studio.
Length is 35", condition is 8.5 out of 10 with some wear of the original, finicky oil can finish and may have minor spots of mild oxidation. Original Cameron Pebble grip and Black Flag headcover.
Certificate of Authenticity from Scotty Cameron.
