Made in 1898 by the Forth Rubber company, this Bullet solid gutta percha ball shows only light use witih no strike marks. The ball was small and heavy, ideal for playing in the wind, hence the name Bullet. Harry B. Wood had one of these in his collection.
The ball also has wonderful provenance, as it came from noted collector Frank Hardison. Hardison spent over 70 years collecting and is most-known for his purchase of a half interest in the famous Harry B. Wood collection, from which he kept many of the balls among other things. Hardison owned this particular ball for over 40 years.
