Lot Description  

1898 Bowden Golf Club "Scratch Challenge Medal". This tournament was open to "Sons of Members Under 16 Years of Age." Large medal, approximately 2.5" diameter, and housed in an attractive 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" frame. Bowden Golf Club is located near Manchester, England, and is one of the oldest golf clubs in the North of England. The course opened in 1890, but was closed for good in 1956.
