This painstakingly assembled scrapbook contains 53 pages of newspaper clippings from around the world announcing the death of Old Tom Morris in 1908. The Morris family believes that the scrapbook was assembled by Old Tom's granddaughter Jamesina upon his death. It was surely a colossal undertaking. The lengths she would have needed to go through to create this scrapbook are extraordinary, as there are newspaper clippings, photographs, and obituaries from dozens and dozens of newspapers and periodicals around the globe. The end result is nothing short of spectacular. Tom Morris was born the son of a linen weaver, but upon his death, he was a global celebrity, as this is the finest example of that fact. It is unquestionably the most comprehensive catalog of Old Tom Morris' death that exists in the world.
In addition, this scrapbook is a treasure trove of Tom Morris' life. These clippings include numerous testimonials, stories, and many historical details that have been lost to the past until now. The history and detail contained in this book are of great worth.
