Offered here is a circa 1880 cleek made by Anderson of Anstruther. Early cleeks like this one were characterized by their thin blades with a topline and sole that run pretty close to parallel. The grain of the wrought iron is clearly apparent on both the back and front of the blade, which is great to see. Anderson's cleekmark remains in good condition on the back of the head. The original 40" shaft still has its original sheepskin grip. Lovely club.
