Offered here is a high impressive and ornate Hamilton pocket watch that was awarded to Bobby Jones after winning the Grand Slam in 1930. This watch was presented to Bobby Jones by the Carolina Golf Association. The engravings on the watch are superb.
The back of the watch contains a custom clover medallion (presumably because Bobby Jones' birthday is St Patrick's Day) with the emblem for the Carolina Golf Association, and is engraved ins script: "Presented to Robert Tyre Jones, 1930."
The inside cover is marked Keystone Vivtory 10k Rolled Golf Plate cover and is engraved "U.S. and British Open, Amateur Titles, 1930".
This Hamilton watch is engraved on the movement Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, PA, as well as 17 Jewels Adjusted. The chain is 12" long, and the watch is 1 3/4" diameter. We have made no attempt toes if the watch is working, though it is in wonderful condition.
It comes in the original Hamilton Watch presentation box.
This watch originally reached the collector market from a family friend and neighbor of Bobby Jones in Atlanta along with other personal items and correspondence between that family and Bobby Jones.
