Vog says: The Classic X name is Scotty's tribute to the ultra-rare Ping Anser Scottsdale "X." Karsten hand crafted a small number (perhaps less than 10) by taking the original Anser and fitting it with a shaft into the heel instead of the standard plumber's neck. The Classic X/Catalina has undergone a bit of a resurgence in the last year due to the release of the limited Catalina B3 and the new Catalina in 2025 with the studio carbon steel insert. By the way this example has some gorgeous milling on the face.
