Offered here is a gorgeous early 90's (stamped 1992) Scotty "Scott" Cameron handmade with desirable snow on the flange. Also includes a very rare Scott Cameron green Milled Putters cover. And it has a GREAT backstory.

Vog says: It was early 2003 and someone in Tennessee contacted me with a package of 5 putters for sale with a specific price. What a package of 5 putters-they supposedly were all made for a former tour player (one whose name escapes me but I recall the initials). 4 made by hand Scott Cameron putters and one welded stainless longneck Coronado. I wanted to buy them and agreed on the price....but the price was "flexible." That means over a several week period the price went up several times-supposedly the seller had other offers and each time I agreed to the new price. Until I finally said no.

A few months later I was at the first ICC (International Cameron Convention) at Tablerock Golf and I saw Jim Butler, the owner and former Cameron tour putter distributor, had the putters-but he had sent them to Scotty to be restored. They were in awesome used condition when I first saw them, but apparently Jim thought they would not sell well with the initials. That week he sold all of them, at a record high price for him.

Normally I'd like to see a putter remain original, but I must say this putter is exceptional. These were restored by Scotty PERSONALLY. I know this because they were redone before the current restoration process went live in 2005, at a time it was almost impossible to get anything restored because the distributors were basically gatekeepers. Scotty did not have a lot of capacity to restore putters, and rightfully so; they wanted Scotty available to work on their putters.

So, what did he do? He welded over the old initials on the toe-if you look very closely at the face of this, there is a little discoloration to the left of the 1992 stamping. That's what left of the old initials. Scotty then remilled the face-but you'll NEVER see milling like this on a putter restored by the studio. Scotty remilled this face very lightly, with very fine milling you'd likely see on an old handmade. He then stamped 1992 next to that slight discoloration on the toe and restamped Scott Cameron on the heel, using the remnants of the old stamps to precisely and perfectly restore the stamping and all the mushrooming us geeky collectors like to see on a hand stamped putter.

So this is just a beauty. It looks like an original old handmade. It isn't over polished. It's been patiently and artistically remilled. It's been restamped. And it has an era-appropriate Cameron grip and original "SCOTT" green milled putters cover; these are seeing record prices as a few old-school collectors are realizing there are way more old handmade putters than these old Scott Cameron covers.

Condition is 9.0 out of 10, our highest rating for a restored putter and appears to be unused since restoration. Includes a super rare matching Scott Cameron Milled Putters cover!
