Offered here is a 1996-1997 era Scotty Cameron Scottydale X-SLC Tour with welded neck, T stamp and unusual 3 white dots in the cavity.
Vog says: Another unusual and cool tour putter from the "deep South" collection. Based on the documentation kept by our consignor, this is a putter Scotty made for Tom Lehman. Where to start? Scotty started with a Scottydale XSLC head but applied a black oxide finish as opposed to the black star finish on the "stock" heads. He then welded a Coronado 2 style neck which appears to have a little less offset than that neck normally had. What about the 3 dots-and why are they offset, towards the toe, rather than the center of the face. I'm no scientist, but hear me out. This head originally started life as a long plumber's neck. That's a lot of weight on the heel side. That's cut-off, and a new, shorter, lighter neck is welded. Would less weight on the heel side throw off the center of gravity (sweet spot) and would weight have to be removed from the toe to correct? I'm not sure but it makes for an interesting theory on this interesting putter.
Condition is 8.75 out of 10, cord, no-cord grip, black flag cover. We will provide a copy of the letter from the former distributor to our consignor providing the details on this putter along with a fresh COA.
