Offered here is an early 2000's Scotty Cameron "JAT" mallet. One of 5,000 made.
Vog says: This putter was inspired by the putter Scotty made for Sergio Garcia right before the 1999 PGA Championship at Medinah, where Sergio finished second to Tiger and is known for Sergio's "scissor kick" and run after hitting a ball from the roots of a tree in the fairway. The putter Sergio used (and apparently was recently brought out of retirement by Garcia after 25 years) was an old Cameron Mizuno M-400 mallet, one Scotty had given his mother-in-law back in 1993 when it was originally made. Scotty told me personally in 2000 that his mother-in-law was using it as a fireplace poker before Scotty saved it one day. Prior to the PGA, Sergio was looking for a mallet and apparently Scotty had used all his available supply of Del Mar and LaCosta heads by 1999-so he used THAT Mizuno head. He cut off the original neck, welded a Coronado 2 neck, welded up the Mizuno logos, and had it gun blued. Except the finish, likely due to all of the "heat treatment" the original head had been through in the fireplace, turned out terrible. So Scotty stamped it JAT for Just a Thought, or just a sample of what he could do, and gave it to Sergio. Except when he circled back to Sergio for some feedback, Sergio loved it-just the way it was-and didn't want another one made. Thus the story of this JAT!
