This stately c.1850 heavy iron has a wonderful wrought iron head with a 5 1/4" hosel that is 13/16" thick.
Old attached brown tag says "early iron circa 1830." Blacksmith made. N.B. Concave face, Hosel nicking, also Top and bottom edges of club are nearly parallel."
The 38 1/2" shaft is original as is the sheepskin grip. This is an outstanding club, the type of heavy iron that golfers would use at the end of the long nose era to accompany their long nose clubs.
