Scotty Cameron's legendary Junk Yard Dog statue finally reaches the auction block...

Offered here is a Scotty Cameron piece so rare that even the most advanced Scotty Cameron collectors may not know about it. Or if you have seen it before, it was likely at Scotty's booth at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, or on display at Scotty's Gallery in Encinitas, California. But if you had inquired about purchasing this piece, you would've been swiftly told that it was "Not. For. Sale."

Well, Scotty did eventually sell this legendary Junk Yard Dog to an advanced Scotty Cameron collector. And after lengthy negotiations (and begging!) over the past year, Junk Yard Dog is ready to find a new home.

This is the 2018 Scotty Cameron "Junk Yard Dog" Scotty dog hand crafted statue. This was crafted by Scotty from unused necks from his putters. A variety of neck styles were used to create this masterpiece, including some Twisty necks! There is a nameplate on the back of the piece with Tiffany paint fill which reads "Scotty Cameron 2018 Junk Yard Dog."

It is very difficult to find additional info on a piece this rare. According to our consignor, he knows of only 3 similar Scotty Dog statues that have ever been produced, including this one - Junk Yard Dog (offered in this auction, Bulldog (with horns), and Neck Dog (all plumbers necks). Those other 2 "dogs" were sold in Japan, and this was the only one sold in the United States.

Vog says: Over the years, Scotty has made a VERY limited number of somewhat similar statues from bits and pieces of his putters or other scrap material-typically when he feels creative or encouraged to do so for various collector events. In 2005 when I was visited his new studio for the first time, he had built a statue of a Circle T (If I recall correctly) using Newport 2 Cami Co GSS heads that were cut in half! I believe this to have been the first type of statue like this; he did so because he had to prove a point to his staff. He had returned from a week off and inspected a groups of those GSS heads finished by his staff, and he wasn't satisfied. He then CUT THEM UP to send a message, probably destroying well over $100,000 worth of putters-wholesale!

This statue is 16 1/4" wide, 11 3/8" tall, 3 5/8" deep, weighs 20 lbs.
