Offered here is a remarkable golf club!  Not only is it unique in its form, everything about it is gorgeous.  The dramatically lofted face, which is also exceptionally deep for a spoon, plus the elegant long nose outline of the head, the well-hooked face, and the rich original golden blond finish all combine to set this club well apart. It will attract major attention in any collection.

This club was made and marked by D.M Patrick. Little is known of him, but we know he was working during the 1890s, when this club was likely made.  It was reported that he was still making hand-hammered balls then, so why not make a few long nose clubs as well? Doubtful that they sold well, as the long nose era was in the rear-view mirror, but no doubt a few old stalwarts who could not tolerate the new-fangled bulger would have loved this club!  Hey, I know I do!!  It looks to me like Patrick was trying to compose a new variation on a long nose. Something "more modern."  And he succeeded, but with a twist.  The original shaft length is that of a middle spoon and the head has the loft of a baffy.  Call it a short spoon to “even things out.”

The 41” shaft is original as is the leather wrapped grip. The head measures 5 1/4" in length, 2 1/4" in width, and a full 1 1/2" in face depth. This club shows little use.
