Stamped "The Spalding" on both the shaft and the crown of the head, this 44-inch Spalding driver is made out of a single, solid piece of wood. There is no neck joint.  Spalding listed this one-piece driver only in its 1898 catalog. There are not many of these clubs around.

This example has its original leather face insert and it appears to have its original leather wrap.  The shaft is stamped and the club is solid. There is a minor ding in the face. For more about 1-piece clubs and Spalding's 1-piece drivers, see TCA2 v1 p169-172.
