This flat back cleek bears Spaldings first cleekmar - the block letter "Spalding" stamp. In his book on Spalding golf clubs, Jim "The Spalding Man" Cooper dates this club as among the first offered by Spalding from 1893 until 1896.    38 1/4" original shaft is stamped "Spalding" and etched "Hyde" the owners name.  The original sheepskin is missing, but the original knitted wool underlisting covered with wound fabric remains. Among the earliest of the early American clubs. Great club!
