Vintage Bobby Jones Photo
after 1927 British Open Victory
St. Andrews does
indeed love Bobby Jones. This vintage photo was made from the original negative
in the 1950’s or 1960’s, and depicts the celebratory mob in St. Andrews after
Bobby Jones won the 1927 British Open. The Emperor Jones is carried away by his
adoring fans, and is carrying the famous club that got him there – Calamity
Jane. Perhaps no photo better signifies Bobby Jones’ appeal to the masses or his
adoration in St. Andrews. This photo is a large 11”x14” (27.9cm x 35.6cm), and
is in truly remarkable condition.
