Rare 1899 American Golf Trophy

    Vintage golf trophies have long been sought-after by collectors, and pre-1900 examples are especially rare and valuable.  Virtually all pre-1900 golf trophies come from the U.K. and Ireland; but presented here is a rare American golf trophy from the 1800's. 

    This tri-handled pewter trophy is from Bedford Golf & Tennis Club in Bedford, New York, and was awarded to the winners of a Mixed Foursome golf tournament held on August 26, 1899.  Bedford Golf & Tennis Club is listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 golf courses ever built in the United States.  This is a rare opportunity to obtain an early trophy from this historic course.
