   The Western Amateur Championship is the most important amateur golf tournament in the United States with the except of the U.S. Amateur.  The Western Amateur has been played for 108 years, and its winners are a who's who of golf, including Chick Evans, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf, Ben Crenshaw, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.
