Infamous Craig Stadler Tree Slice from Torrey Pines DQ

        Presented here is an original slice of the Leland Cypress from the 14th fairway at Torrey Pines Golf Course personally signed and dated by Craig Stadler. Under this tree, the infamous "Building a Stance" DQ on 2/15/87 occurred that cost him the tournament and has become a part of golf lore ever since! On 8/7/96 our consignor along with Craig Stadler attended the "chain sawing" of this tree. He was able to oversee the distribution/signing and disposal of the entire tree and its parts. There were only 30 slabs handed out and of those 30, only 14 were signed on site. But with Craig's permission only THREE were hand finished and re-signed beautifully, dated and noted by Craig!
