6 Original 1925-1937 Golf
Magazines
Presented here are 6 great original golf magazines from 1925 to 1937.
These magazines are spectacular, and contain amazing early golf content.
The 1936 National Golf Review magazine contains an article on Horton Smith and a
very early reference to "The Masters Tournament", even though it was still
officially the Augusta National Invitational at that time (the name was
officially changed to "The Masters' Tournament" in 1938). This magazine is
early proof of the common use of the term "Masters Tournament" even before Bobby
Jones relented to pressure to agree to the name change. These great
magazines were found with the remainder of famed golf course architect Perry
Maxwell's collection that is being offered elsewhere in this auction.
