This lot consists of various correspondences to Perry Maxwell over the years. These include reminders of golf magazine subscription expirations, book orders, etc. Of greater importance is a letter from Jay Monroe of Monroe Calculating Machine Company regarding an experimental bent grass patch at Augusta National Golf Club dated 1935. Jay Monroe was a member at ANGC and also was on the Executive Committee. Early ANGC material is very hard to come by. Also of note is a letter from Toro Manufacturing Company apolgizing to Perry for the delay in shipping his greens mower down to Dornick Hills. He tries to smooth over the situation by offering to buy Perry a box of cigars and a couple suits of clothes. And a couple letters regarding various aspects of his golf course business.
