1935 Masters Sunday Ticket
from Sarazen's Double Eagle Signed by Bobby Jones
The 1935
Masters is quite possibly the most famous Masters Tournament in history. Then
considered simply a nice, small invitational tournament, Gene Sarazen famously
put the tournament on the map with his double eagle on the 15th hole on Sunday
that catapulted him to victory. Only a handful of items from the 1935 Masters
Tournament are known to exist. With the exception of Sarazen's 4-wood and ball
from his "shot heard 'round the world" that are currently in the possession of
Augusta National Golf Club, this is certainly one of the greatest piece of
memorabilia from the 1935 Masters.
Presented here is an actual ticket from that historic day when Gene Sarazen put
tiny Augusta, Georgia on the map. Only a handful of these tickets are
known to exist, and none more significant than this. This amazing badge
has been signed by both Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen; signatures that one can
speculate were actually obtained on that very historic day at the 1935 Masters.
More than simply another piece of golf memorabilia, this one of a kind item is
an actual piece of golf history. The Gilchrist Guide to Golf Collectibles on page 17 lists this ticket at $10,000. With the added wonderful signatures who knows the value? We'll let you decide on this great, rare no reserve item.
This badge originally had a small tear at the hole which has been restored by a nationally recognized museum conservator.
