1950 U.S. Open Series Ticket
(Ben Hogan)
Just 16
months after the famous car accident that nearly took his life and during which
doctors questioned whether he'd ever walk again, Hogan was back! Hogan won
9 Major Championships in his career, but none more famous than this.
Virtually every golfer alive has seen the famous photograph of Ben Hogan's
1-iron shot on the 17th hole at famed Merion, a shot that helped catapult Hogan
to the top once again.
Presented here is a very rare opportunity to obtain an actual series badge from
the 1950 U.S. Open. Very few tickets from the 1950 U.S. Open are known to
exist. This ticket belonged to a USGA Guest, and allowed its owner access
to Merion's famous clubhouse. The original owner of this ticket was
certainly very fortunate; as will the winning bidder of this very hard to find
piece.
