Rare Contestant's Pin from 1954 World Championship of Golf

Many people have forgotten about the World Championship of Golf, which was every player's favorite golf tournament in the 1940's and 50's. The World Championship of Golf not only had the largest purse of any golf tournament in the world at the time - it wasn't even close.  The winner of the World Championship of Golf received so much money in relation to other tournaments, including the U.S. Open, that that player would almost certainly go on to win the money title.  For example, after the tournament was ended in 1957, the next year's money list winner Arnold Palmer won less money that entire year than the World Championship of Golf awarded to its winner a year earlier.  It should also be noted the the World Championship of Golf was also the first golf tournament to be televised live on national television.  Winners of this popular tournament include Julius Boros, Sam Snead and Ben Hogan.
