Bobby Jones' Personal 1964 Augusta National Members' Gift

            Augusta National famously provides a gift to its esteemed members each year.  For obvious reasons, these gifts are not often sold or given away by its members.  But in this auction, we are pleased to offer several hard to find vintage Augusta National members' gifts.

            Presented here is probably the most significant Augusta National Members' Gift ever offered to the public.  This is not just any members' gift - this 1964 Augusta National Bridge Set was produced for, and owned by, the most famous Augusta National Golf Club member of them all - Bobby Jones.  This gift was given to the couple hundred members of Augusta National in 1964 by Augusta National Chairman Clifford Roberts as a memento for that year's Masters Tournament.  Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts were both avid bridge players, which we can assume was the reason for this great set.  Imagine the games that this bridge set may have been used for.  Was this very set used during some intense betting between the competitive Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts?  Maybe these cards were also held by their frequent bridge companion and fellow Augusta member President Dwight Eisenhower?  Given Bobby Jones' passion for bridge, the possibilities are certainly endless.

            The case is in great condition, with Bobby Jones' name fully imbedded on the front.  Some cards in this set are missing.
