1939 US Open Contestants Badge (Byron Nelson)

        Few golfers are as beloved as the late Byron Nelson. Unfortunately, memorabilia from Lord Byron's 5 Major Championship victories are very hard to come by, primarily since his most recent Major came over 65 years ago, in 1945.

        We are pleased to offer one of the most significant pieces of Byron Nelson Major Championship memorabilia in existence - an actual contestant's badge from the 1939 U.S. Open. Since it is not known whether any type of contestant badge was issued at Byron's only prior Major, the 1937 Masters, this very well may be the earliest contestant's badge from a Byron Nelson Major in existence. This contestant's badge is one of only a handful known to exist, and is in remarkable condition.
