Rare Roll Call Board

from 1988 PGA Championship

        Items like this rarely become available for sale. During the U.S. Open and PGA Championship, players sign a Roll Call board when registering for the tournament. The roll call board is then generally framed and hung in the clubhouse of the hosting club. Occasionally, a print is made of the roll call board and sold as a poster. 

        But presented here is the original roll call board from the 1988 PGA Championship! This roll call board consists of autographs of every contestant at the 1988 PGA Championship held at Oak Hill. Each player has signed with the same pen, and signed in the order in which the showed up at Oak Hill for the PGA Championship.  The overall size of this large board is 19" x 24" and sports approximately 150 signatures. The names that adorn this piece include Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Payne Stewart, Fred Couples, Tom Watson, Nick Faldo, Greg Norman, Paul Azinger and that year's winner Jeff Sluman. What a great piece to have as far as wonderful exemplars of all the greats of the era. This roll call board is believed to have hung at Oak Hill for many years, and the signatures have faded some over time.
