Prototype Masters Champion's Dinner Plate

       Original Masters Champions' Dinner Wedgewood plates are rare and command at least a couple thousand dollars when offered for sale. But presented here is a truly unique opportunity - the actual prototype plate for those famous Wedgewood Champions' Dinner plates. This "first proof" is dated 1986, and was used to create the famous Champions' Dinner plates. The eventual final product as can be seen in the photograph below of the 1968 Champions' Dinner, but this prototype is where it all began.  This is prior to the gold and green rim being applied. This prototype was strictly done for ANGC approval prior to being finalized in the classic Champion's dinner plate. The Champions' Dinner photograph comes from page 34 of the 1973 book The Masters: Profile of a Tournament  (The one with the fancy Green Jacket cover).
