1934 Masters Program
1936 Masters Member's Badge
Presented here is a truly
scarce piece of memorabilia from when The Masters Tournament was still called
the "Augusta National Invitation Tournament" (commonly misreported as "The
Augusta National Invitational"). This historic badge was part of a famous 2005
"find" in Augusta, GA that included several pieces of previously-unseen early
Masters memorabilia. In that incredible find were four (4) 1936 Masters Member's
Badges. Over 6 years later, there are still believed to be the only 4 of these
badges in existence. The other 3 examples have since been sold into private
collections, where they will likely remain for years. Amazingly, a
representative from Augusta National Golf Club has even confirmed that they do
not even have this badge in their own collection.
The badge itself is measures about 2 1/8"
in diameter and the ribbon 1 1/2" x 3 1/4" and is separating from the badge but
still just barely attached.
