The Gene Sarazen Estate
We are very privileged to have the opportunity to auction off numerous items
from the Gene Sarazen Estate. Each of these items comes from the personal
collection of the late Gene Sarazen. This is the first time that any of the
items have been offered for sale.
This magnificent 15" Sterling
Silver Salver was presented to Gene Sarazen upon his retirement from Shell's
Wonderful World of Golf. This gorgeous item in is a bamboo design and has the
following inscription: "Be sure to be with us next week on Shell's Wonderful
World of Golf. Gene Sarazen" The signatures of the production crew are all
engraved beneath this inscription, including the creator Fred Raphael and lead
writer Herbert Warren Wind. Also comes with a June 1967 check written to Fred
Raphael by Gene Sarazen. This Silver Salver weighs over 31 Ounces, making the
Silver content alone worth $1000.
This salver comes from Mr. Sarazen's personal collection and come with a letter of
provenance from renowned collector Mark Emerson, who is assisting the Estate
with the proper disposition of Mr. Sarazen's personal items.
