The Ryder Cup
Exceptional Grantland Rice Signed 3x5
Index Card
with Fan's 1938 Autograph Request Letter
The foremost sports
writer of his day, Grantland Rice grew to become almost as famous as his notable
subjects, which included Babe Ruth, Notre Dame football (he coined the term
"Four Horsemen" for ND's backfield), and, of course, Bobby Jones. Offered here
is a truly exceptional autograph of Grantland Rice. This autograph was obtained
when a fan sent a letter to Rice in 1938 asking for his autograph. Included in
this lot is the original fan letter and envelope, which led to this
near-flawless autograph.
