Circa 1910s Pine Valley

J. Govan Hickory Mid Iron

             Offered here is a very rare circa 1910's golf club made by James Govan - the first pro at Pine Valley Golf Club. This club was almost certainly produced by Govan in the 1910s or possibly the very early 1920's, meaning it was likely among the earliest clubs he made at Pine Valley, which started construction in 1913 but wasn't complete until 1918. The club, which is in good to very good condition, is beautifully stamped "J. Govan Pine Valley".
