Rare 1912 Copper Golf Trophy
This is a
truly extraordinary 101 year old copper golf trophy from the St. Augustine Golf
Club. Very few early golf trophies were made out of copper - making this trophy
quite unique and special. This impressive trophy is 8" tall and measures 9" wide
from handle to handle. The trophy was won by W.N.P. Darrow, a well-known figure
in the day. Darrow was a West Point graduate who rose to the rank of General in
the U.S. Military. Darrow was an avid golfer who famously wrote the golf poem
"My Favorite Ball", which was first featured in a 1900 issue of Golf.
