1947 Official Ryder Cup Photo
Signed by the Entire British Team
In 1947, the Ryder Cup Matches resumed after a decade-long break due to World
War II. The British Team certain had some excellent golfers, including playing
Captain Henry Cotton, Fred Daly and Max Faulker. But the American Team may have
been the greatest golf squad ever assembled, with Hogan, Snead, Nelson, Demaret,
Mangrum and so forth. Sure enough, the Brits were no match for the powerful
American Team, and suffered the most lopsided loss in Ryder Cup history - 11 to
1. Only a singles match victory by Sam King over Herman Keiser prevented a shut
out.
The 1947 British Ryder Cup Team may
have lost, but it still made history and included some famous golfers while
doing so. Offered here is the official 1947 Ryder Cup photo, which has been
beautifully autographed by the entire British Team.
