Original Mamie Eisenhower Letter
to Architect of Mamie's Cabin
Offered here is the original 1953 letter from Mamie Eisenhower to Lowrey Stulb,
the architect of Mamie's Cabin at Augusta National Golf Club.
This letter was written on December
7, 1953 - shortly after President Eisenhower and Mamie Eisenhower visited
Mamie's Cabin for the first time over Thanksgiving. In this letter, Mamie refers
to the cabin as "the little Augusta house", before then referring to it as
"Mamie's Cabin".
This letter is on White House
stationary and contains a huge signature of the First Lady. Quite amazingly,
this letter even comes with its original envelope from The White House to
Augusta.
