Great 1941 Photo of Bobby Jones
at Red Cross Matches in Bahamas
Even though Bobby Jones was 11 years removed from competitive golf in 1941, he
still played in the occasional charity golf match. This is a rare original
photograph from a 1941 Red Cross Match that was held in Nassau, Bahamas and
sponsored by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Clearly, when the Duke and Duchess
ask you to play in a golf tournament, you happily oblige, as they assembled a
"Who's Who" case of golfers for this Red Cross tournament. Pictured in this
photograph with the Royal couple are Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Gene Sarazen, Ed
Dudley and PGA President Tom Walsh.
This 8x10 is signed by Tom Walsh, and
comes from the personal collection of the late Ed Dudley.
