Ben Hogan
1936 U.S. Open Contestants Gift -
Impressive Saks 5th Ave Cigarette Case
Offered here is one of the finest Major Championship player gifts that we've
ever encountered.
This cigarette case with built-in
lighter is striking in appearance. It was given to players who participated in
the 1936 U.S. Open at Baltusrol. It looks like it could've been produced
yesterday, not almost 78 years ago.
This high quality piece was produced
by Saks-Fifth Avenue and comes in its original Saks box. This was awarded to
1936 U.S. Open participant Alvin Krueger, and has been passed down by Krueger's
family ever since.
1/4" thin, intended to slip in a
jacket breast pocket. The Baltusrol clubhouse is displayed impressively on the
inside of the case, along with the words "Open Championship, Baltusrol 1936").
