"Tiger's F*cking Driver"

Tiger Woods' Custom Titleist Driver

Tiger's F*cking Driver...

No, those profane words aren't ours, they are actually the name of this prototype 7.5 degree Titleist 975T-FD driver - believed to be the only prototype driver that Titleist ever made for specifically for Tiger Woods.

In approximately the year 2000, larger head drivers were becoming all the rage on tour and in the marketplace. Tiger Woods had a different request for Titleist - Tiger wanted to try out a smaller driver very similar to the 975D, but with some some different specifications. So Titleist made this prototype driver, a 975T-FD, which literally stands for "Tiger's F*cking Driver", an inside joke at Titleist!

Tiger used this club on the driving range and during practice rounds. According the USGA regulations, prototype clubs are allowed during practice rounds but not during official play. To use during official play, Titleist would have to submit the head to the USGA for approval to be added to the list of conforming clubs. Because of the process and expense for gaining approval, Titleist was not going to apply for approval until getting the go-ahead from Tiger, which never came. For this reason, this Titleist 975T-FD was not used during tournament play and no more were ever produced.

This is believed to be the only driver that Titleist ever made specifically for Tiger Woods. Irons are customized every day, and putters can be fitted in a matter of minutes, but entirely-new drivers cannot easily by custom produced.

This great driver comes with a letter of provenance from our consignor, who obtained this club directly from Tiger Woods back in approximately 2000 or 2001.
