1896 Robert Forgan
Cabinet Card by Thomas Roger
Robert
Forgan is unquestionably one of the greatest golf clubmakers of all-time. He
learned for the best, as his uncle was the legendary High Philp. When Philp died
in 1856, it was Robert Forgan who took over the company and eventually became
the official clubmaker for His Majesty King Edward. Offered here is a rare
original portrait photograph of Robert Forgan, circa 1896, by famed St. Andrews
photographer Thomas Roger. Forgan died in 1900, so original photograps of the
legendary clubmaker are very hard to find. This cabinet card photograph measures
4 1/4" x 6 1/2".
