This is a rare - possibly unique - metal sign that welcomed guests that
likely attended either the 1953, 1962 or 1973 U.S. Open at famed Oakmont
Country Club. With the winners being Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Johnny
Miler at those tournaments, this sign was surely witness to greatness.
Golf tournaments did not typically have corporate sponsorship back then, so
this Pepsi-Cola sign certainly represents an early foray into advertising
future that we're all accustomed to today. This large metal sign
measures
24" x 36.
