1924 U.S. Amateur Ticket at Merion -
Bobby Jones’ First U.S. Amateur Win
The 1924 Amateur at Merion Golf Club outside Philadelphia was nothing short of historic in every sense. That week Bobby Jones would win his first of five U.S. Amateur titles, in grand fashion no less, tallying a 9 & 8 victory over Runner Up George Von Elm.
The term “rare” is probably used more liberally these days than in the past, but if ever there was occasion to describe something using that term, this may be the time. Presented here is the only known ticket to exist from that historic Bobby Jones 1924 U.S. Amateur Victory. There is a crease in the center, but it is not noticeable. From a golf ticket or Bobby Jones memorabilia collector’s standpoint, this is surely hard to beat!
