Vardon Flyer Bramble
Gutta Percha Golf Ball
First used in 1899 and through about 1905, and made by the Spalding Co., this ball boasted increased distance over the line cut gutty. Vardon famously used this ball to win several tournaments including the 1900 U.S. Open. Although only lasting a few years, the Bramble gave way to the wound ball, this was a vast improvement over the line cut gutty. The ball retains approximately 85% of the original paint and exhibits no cuts or hit marks.
