Large 1945 Canadian Open Sign-
Byron Nelson's 11th in a Row

Golf Magazine once called Byron Nelson’s 11 straight PGA victories “a record that has stood the test of time and has come to be recognized as one of the hardest to break in any sport.”

Yet, despite the esteem in which Nelson’s streak is held, it has been a rather frustrating topic for collectors. Unfortunately, very few quality pieces of memorabilia exist from Nelson’s streak.

Offered here is a spectacular one. This large sign advertised the 1945 Canadian Open – the 11th and final victory of Nelson’s improbably streak. The sign measures 48" x 15", and details the 1945 $10,000 Canadian Open at Thornhill, which was held from August 2nd-4th, 1945.
