1930 Walker Cup Team Photo Autographed by
Future Kings of England Edward VIII and George VI
It is hard to imagine a finer item that combines golf history with the history of Great Britain. When the 1930 Walker Cup was held outside of London, the two sons of King George V came to visit. Prince Edward, the first monarch to be a pilot, reportedly flew up to the tournament with two planes as escorts.
This original 1930 photograph is a group photo of both Walker Cup teams - the British team and the Bobby Jones-led American team. Amazingly, the photograph has been boldly autographed by the two future Kings of England - Edward, who would reign for only 325 days as King Edward VIII, and Albert, who would become King George VI.
