Peter Oosterhuis' 1974 Open Championship
Braid-Taylor Memorial Gold Medal
This is the actual Braid-Taylor Gold Memorial Gold Medal that was awarded to Peter Oosterhuis at the 1974 Open Championship. The Braid-Taylor Memorial Gold Medal is, of course, named after the great James Braid and JH Taylor. It is awarded by the British PGA to the British golfer who finishes highest in the Open Championship each year. In 1974, that honor went to Peter Oosterhuis, who finished 2nd at The Open behind winner Gary Player. The Braid-Taylor Memorial medal is 9 karat gold and measures 7/8".
