Tony Jacklin's
1987 Ryder Cup Crystal Trophy
Offered
here is an impressive Ryder Cup Crystal Trophy topped by a Sterling
Silver Abe Mitchell Figure. The Trophy was a Captain’s gift presented to
European Captain Tony Jacklin at the 1987 Ryder Cup by Jack Nicklaus.
Widely recognized as one of the most significant Ryder Cups in the
history of the event, Captain Jacklin led his team to a narrow,
hard-fought victory over a U.S. team that was captained by Jack Nicklaus
and contested at Jack’s Muirfield Village Golf Club. Prior to 1987, the
U.S. Team had a record of 13-0 on American soil that spanned the
previous 60 years.
This
crystal Ryder Cup trophy is almost certainly a piece of memorabilia
that no collector has ever seen before today. It measures 10 3/8" tall.
