Leo Diegel Signed Album Page from
Personal Collection of Joe Kirkwood
World Golf Hall of Fame Member Leo Diegel (1899-1951) was able to carve out back-to-back PGA Championship wins, as well as Runner-Up finishes in the US Open and Open Championship during an era that was flooded with great champions. His autograph is a very difficult early major champion signature to obtain. This signature was originally secured by and contained within the personal autograph book of Australian star Joe Kirkwood. It dates to the 1923 Open Golf Championship and measures 4 1/4" x 6 3/4". It has been written in black fountain pen on a light green album page. The autograph was part of a massive 25-year accumulation of rare golf autographs by noted collector Mark Emerson and comes with his letter of authenticity.
